The kind of "active" boredom, where you keep thinking of stuff you could do, and you do five minutes of it, and then you get bored again.  First I was just sitting here, playing some katawa shoujo, and I kind of got bored because I had inadvertantly caused the story to go down a boring path (I think, but don't spoil it if you have played it), so I just saved and quit out of that.  I proceeded to hulu, in order to partake in the viewing of Japanese animation.  Nothing looked good, or maybe I wasn't in the mood for anything to look good, so I closed out of that and just went over to youtube.  I noticed that there was a new episode of a podcast

I started thinking of some ideas for a short story.  I like what I have so far.  Look forward to a short story posted by me soon. "Xarlev, why are you posting this journal to tell us that?" If I post this, I pressure myself into actually writing the story.  It works in a weird sort of way.  If I post that I'm gonna write a story, I feel like I actually have to finish the story.
